The Joseph Caleb Auditorium is an attractive 1,000 - seat performing arts facility with good sight lines and excellent acoustics. The Auditorium is the center of many community programs and activities, including the Heart of the City Cultural Arts Series, featuring nationally known African-Americans of distinctive accomplishment; graduation ceremonies; community forums; local talent recitals; cotillions; and more.
Companies such as Mal-Jonal Productions, Story Theater, the Dave and Mary Alper Jewish Community Center, and the National Theater of the Performing Arts bring a wide choice of children's programs throughout the year.
The Caleb Auditorium also has the support of Diaspora Arts Coalition, Inc., which presents an exciting arts series each year. Many local dance companies perform at the Caleb Auditorium including The Inner City Touring Dance Company, BlackFire Danz Team, Sosyete Koukouy presenting Haitian Arts & Culture, Body Nation Dance Theater, and the Atijo African-American Dance Company.
Important annual events are Black History Month, National Black Music Month and Kwanzaa Celebration.
